Off roading fun!

My Max will one day be retired, and when it does i want to take it out on a little off asphalt fun. Has anyone taken their 3rd gen Max to an off road course?

what do you mean by off road? I have driven my car "off the road" at family and friends properties, out of town to park by a bon-fire, did fine.

if you mean rally car, or destruction derby, it's a little (ahem) heavy to be competitive in the first, and there are better ways to kill a car than killing yourself in the process.

all joking and whatnot aside, what are your true plans, as far as off road adventuring goes? thrashing around in a field, doing some jumps? there were some youtube vids a while back with people trying to destroy the cars doing such (and failing, ****-poor miserably, I might add). may check there, or search for the vids, here.

No, that seems silly, and I would encourage you to at least try and find someone who could use the parts before you irrevocably destroy a fine vehicle. Just my two pennies. Can't say I haven't pulled a few doughnuts and reverse 180s in loose turf.............. Neither are on my agenda in the future though, Max lashed back after my scornful teen driving years, and now I am paying for it. At least make a video for us to laugh about after you are no longer with us.

I drove mine up the scariest off road hill ( going to some hotsprings on a road trip) doing about 10 km/h. The hill was the absolute steepest pitch i have ever driven up, it was all rutted, and had large cobbles exposed from lots of rain. The car shook so violently that the ground wire came off the battery, the car died instantly, the wheel locked and the brakes are hard to work w/out the car on. Actually the most fun I've had in my car. I then promptly yanked up the e-brake, got out, reattached the ground, completed the hill, pulled over and got in my friends 100$ jetta a drove the scum out of it the rest of the way. Bumpy roads are scary in heavy cars.

cmon, 3rd gens are already getting hard to find. at least part it out or something, or sell it whole/use it as a project. or if you have the urge to offroad trade your 3rd gen or sell it for a Nissan KingCab or some other older truck

if you do offroad it

and i saw that YouTube with the Dbag that offroaded his white 3rd gen wrecking it, on him for life. just
