Did a run on the Dyno!!!

So today I had a little fun and took my "VE" on the "DYNO" and below are the two photos I took of the sheet(Kinda blurry because of photo bucket) which has my run on it. A little things to know the car is completely stock(not one mod), is an auto, and has 207,800 miles on it. The numbers I got were ----> Max power = 116.10 Max torque = 132.23 This shows how much power cars really loose after they age. Where do you think your max stands is a good question to ask yourself.

damn your car must be in bad shape if the dyno was calibrated right... even a vg auto should put out more WHP than that...

keep in mind that WHP factors in drivetrain loss... the factory figure is "bhp". so 190bhp ends up being 150-160whp after you factor in the tranny gear friction, t/c drag, etc.

Lol I was looking like what in the world is going on I couldn't believe it, but I have on had this VE for about 3 months Now and I did everything to get it running didn't run when i bought it, I don't know what the owner before me did with it. O yea and true it is the "BHP" given in the specs that's what they don't tell us of half the time!

I had mine dyno in at 166 max hp and 168 max tq on a Dynojet... this was on a ~50k mile rebuilt VE 5spd, with periodic misfire. Mods were intake, Y pipe, flywheel and pulley

Cant tell much from that picture but why does your dyno plot look like it slowly climbs and then takes off halfway through?

Since I have an auto I did the pull in "2" shift selection not "d" So I slowly cruised up to 2,000 rpm then did the pull from there.

Did he owe you money or something?
Back to the dyno, i am not surprise with the #, what do you guys expect for a stock auto VE that has over 200k miles on it?

Yea that's what I'm saying for the condition the car is in mileage and auto so I felt the need not to be that upset lol.

Sadly it's never made it to the dyno so I don't have solid numbers. However Jeremy (maxmima91) who dynoed his 3rd Gen at 400WHP says hes pretty sure I'm right around 350whp. The exhaust starts out with a 4.5" oval off the turbo and transitions to 3" . From there it is 3" all the way back, mandrel bent with 3" straight through Dynomax resonator and muffler. It actually very quiet (which is why I decided on the dynomax parts) and I love it that way. Instead of a 3" (or larger) tip out the back, I split it into two 2.5" tips painted black to further the sleeper look.
Pictures of the entire turbo setup, as well as the building and pictures of the exhaust can be found on my photobucket page.

I'm planning my turbo 3" exhaust system for my Shelby Charger which is made by Turbos Unleashed for $250 (aluminized of coarse) which doesn't include the cat nor muffler and is an awesome price...but I'm planning to use a metallic substrate cat (3") and a Magnaflow p/n 12763 which is a 3" inlet, 24" body and dual 2.5" tips or the 30" body with dual 2.5" p/n 12762...and should be quiet due to the turbo being a noise diffuser in itself....I'm finishing up my 3rd Gen and the Shelby is next...

Because of it's mileage, and how rusted(because it sat for two years) it is, I'm not gonna do anything to it, and it's an auto so... I want a 99SE but skool holding me back

Sorry, but its not mileage. I know someone who dynoed 140whp on a VG30E in a Z31 with just a cone air filter, full stock exhaust, 100% original engine with 220,000 miles on it.

Well I'm guessing he fully took care of his car because I found acorns in the airbox when I bought this thing for all I know there may be some in the CC, it has one code knock sensor, but I just think the guy didn't maintain it like he should

Oh, yeah. I'm just saying, everyone is always like "oh high mileage makes you lose power." Thats not entirely true, if your car was taken care of you should see very minimal powerloss if any.

Ill be going to the dyno this spring. Plan on running mid to high 20s psi wise. Looking for 400whp. Heres old setup and then the new. The new setup is a old crappy cell phone pic but you get the idea.

Oh yea I know mileage just doesn't make a car lose power, but if it isn't maintained along the way it makes a difference.

no that was real. he picked up a vq35 from a guy that had to get it off his property or else face consequences from his landlord so he told alex "ok well i need it gone today so take it today and then pay me next week when you get your paycheck" but alex never paid him for it. or at least not up till when i last talked to him about it... which was a few years ago.
