fuel question
fuel question
A few months back i changed out my injectors actually 5. It seems like they was burning out back to back... im sooo confused with this car that i stopped working on it but im soon to start back because i really like it. But I know when I changed them I didnt change the O rings becaus e idk where to get new pintle caps. I was careful and put oil/vasaline when installing each time new gaskets but the gas burns pretty quickly and the wiered thing is when the gas is low and im at a complete stop the light comes on but when ik take off it goes off untill im really low. I also know that I didnt put the fuel supply on all the way back. when I turn the keyits like i can hear the gas rushing. On top of the the misfire is back I know the plugs are again so i put 2 plugs that i had from before it it was even worse {they were also ngk}. Im going to start checking stuff but I jus want some ideas of where to start or ideas of what it might be. Another stupid thing i did was put all red top injectors. A few ppl told me it wouldnt make a difference it it didnt seem to because it ran smooth until the mifire came back. I read some thing I found onlne that said the cc output was the same. please help not critcize im not a master michanic jus trying to fix my car on a budget...

If I'm understanding you right, your injectors started going out one after the other, you replaced five of them and it worked fine but now you have a misfire again.
As far as having the injectors go out one after the other that actually sounds pretty common, if you read through alot of the older posts about injectors many people recommend changing them all at once because once one goes the others usually go pretty quickly.
For your fuel light going on at a stop and then going off again when you start going, that's pretty normal too. The fuel sloshing around will turn it off for a while, happens to my car all the time.
When you hear the gas rushing when you turn the key, that might be normal (fuel rail pressuring up) but i'm not sure, you say you didn't put the fuel supply all the way back on, can you smell gas?
I think you forgot a word, what's wrong with the plugs?
Putting in red top injectors shouldn't matter at all, do you know what your injectors were before? Some people say you shouldn't mix and match but others have done it with no problem.
If I were you I would check the last injector that you hadn't replaced, that would be my guess. It would help to know what engine you have in your car also (you can tell us the year and if it's a GXE or SE if you don't know the engine type) and if you could also tell us if you've done anything else (plugs, cap and rotor, wires...)

The engine is the vg... I didn't pull all the plugs but the 2 I pulled were black whih I expected because of the misfire from before. I'm going I think I'm going to wait until next weekend and start breaking it down again 2 get to that. Fuel supply. Also I'm going to check injector resistance today and check for o ring leakage. I'm so close but yet so far with this damn car. 3g maxima has always been my favorite car but these issues r killing me...
