Sunroof adjustment?

The sunroof on my '91 doesn't close tight, water streams in thru the car wash! I can push up on the inside about 1/4" before it's tight. I see that it's in the right spot on the track, but can't see any way to adjust it. Help!

Two things. Clean out the drain ports at all 4 corners with air and go to Courtesy and get the shims.

any metal can be used for shims, but youre not going to be able to shim 1/4 inch. take off the plastic covers on the inside, loosen the nuts as far as itll go without comming loose and shove some shims between the track and the glass. see if that seals it. if not then you need a new sunroof track.

I replaced my cracked sunroof panel with another panel and the original panel only had a few shims but the new panel needed many more. I probably had around a 1/4" difference which I shimmed. I barely could catch threads so I locktited them. It has worked without issue since.

As long as you're talking about sunroofs, I have another problem with mine. When I press the button to open it, it only moves an inch or so every time. So in order to open it all the way, I have to keep pressing it over and over again probably about 10 to 15 times. Any easy way for me to fix that? (I realize that's very unlikely)

Possibly the sunroof button itself is making poor contact, maybe want to take it apart and look at it.

I've got a drawing of the shim if anyone wants it. Had some laser cut at work. Maybe someone can post it for me...I'm stupid...don't know how.

Or you can just simply ask someone on here if they have any, post in the For Sale forum indicating WTB. I personally have so many stock shims I could melt them down and mold an engine block.

Well, not really. But I do have quite a few!

Have you taken apart the control unit with the open/close buttons to see if the close side is making contact. It sounds like it works fine but the close side of button is worn and needs to be cleaned or tweeked out.
