Real nice job man. That's a sick looking setup and intake manifold

What standalone system are you running? Got any scans of your dyno results?

im running a haltech platinum sport 1000. i got the print out, ill take a pic of emm this weekend. im running a rather safe tune right now, ill be turning up the boost once i break the motor in. can't wait to see what she does at 21 lbs!! ill be swapping to the VE tranny soon to really put all the power down ...
she spins 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th right now ... but i got crappy tires on there now, so ill be getting some good tires soon! i hope all turns out good!

Very nice work. Props on getting the Haltech setup running, can't wait to see what happens with more boost.

What does the 3 ratio numbers mean? I've looked it up and got other crap, or no answers. Thanks

search is your best friend.

...a quick google search got me this. enjoy!

from HowStuffworks.com

"Compression ratio is a way to measure how tightly the piston squeezes the air inside the engine.

Picture two tin cans, one slightly larger around than the other.
Cut out one end of both, empty them and turn them both upside down so the open end is toward the floor.

Slip the smaller one inside the larger. The smaller one represents the piston and the larger one is the cylinder. The smaller one goes up and down inside the larger and if it was sealed around the edges it could create pressure inside the larger one.

The compression ratio would be the difference in the volume of air when the small one is all the way out and at the bottom compared to the volume of air when it is all the way in and at the top. If the volume of air at the bottom was 8 cubic inches and the volume of air when the piston is at the top is 1 cubic inch then the compression ratio means the 8 cubic inches is compressed to only 1 cubic inch and the ration is 8.0 to 1
If at the bottom the volume was 18 cubic inches and at the top it was 2cubic inches the compression ratio would be 18.0 to 2 which is the same as 9.0 to 1

Years ago, in the 1960's gas engines with 8.5 to 1 used the standard gas called "regular" and engines with 10.2 to 1 needed the premium gas. Today most cars have compression of about 8.5 to 1 or 9.2 to 1. Which is a good ratio by todays standards. Higher compression would mean the need for premium high octane gas.
With Turbo charging and Supercharging, you can get more power with a lower compression ratio since this allow for a higher boost pressure without knocking or putting added stress onto internal engine components

So, tell us - do you work for 666fabrication?

Or did 666fabrication build this setup for you?

We're always interested in total build costs, etc.

actually that's a pretty smart way to go about it.. inexpensive sanity check before dropping $$ on something that may or may not end up working.

that is very sweet. Everything looks great.

I just hope your transmission(s) hold up. If you are putting in a VE trans, you might want to source a spare just in case you decide to have some fun down the road! That, or find someone that will build it cheap.

Dude, seeing this makes me want to either get a southern 3rd gen and swap all my parts to it with the exception of the A/T and turboing it since I have my 4th gen as my DD :HIDE: if only I had a job at the moment or simply turbo what I have

Props on the work

Compression ratio article
I understand the 2 numbers representation. But I see 8 5 1 and 8 8 1. And I cannot find any resource representing a compression ratio using 3 terms, unless that first colon was an error and should be a decimal point.

Yes, it should be a decimal point and not a colon.

It should be 8.5:1 and/or 8.8:1
