What do you mean independent? What's wrong with the factory switch? Do you want the ability to turn each one on and off separately or something?

If it's in PDF format, upload it to a file hosting site and then post the link here and we can download it as needed

That's pretty simple then. Rewire the red/yellow wire at the fog relay to a positive source of your choosing. ACC, ON/ST, or constant, just be sure not to leave the switch on if you choose constant.

Easiest and cleanest way to do it would be to cut the red/yellow and use a quick splice to tie it into either the white/blue for ACC, or white/red for ON/ST that go to the air conditioning relay. I would do white/blue. Find the correct wires under the relay box and make the splice there. All the red/yellow wire does is supply some juice to power the relay, so the fogs will still be powered by the correct circuit.

The factory switch is independent, so you can hook it to that switch and the fuse block has it's own spot for fogs. I installed led fogs on mine, I set up the fuse in the fuse block factory spot but my Max didn't come with a factory fog switch, so for a while I hid the aftermarket switch under dash until I found a factory switch at the JY. I have the factory switch now and plan on installing in dash soon.

All the stock switch was designed for is to control the ground for the relay coil which only draws about 300mA. The positive side is controlled by the headlight switch. When both switches are closed, it trips the relay which closes the fog circuit. The current that drives the fogs does not flow through the fog light switch. Could it work that way without burning up? Probably, but it's not the way it's supposed to work, and requires custom wiring that doesn't need to exist.

Yes, I'm talking aftermarket wiring to AM switch or Factory switch, I have it this way safely for last year. I am installing it to the factory switch I got soon but I'm gonna leave it the way it is, just include the factory switch. I like driving with head lights off, parking lights on and my led fogs on. Can't he still turn the fogs on with parking lights or no?

He doesn't need to do any of that, you shouldn't have to either. All analog dash harness' should include the fog switch connector and wiring. You add the switch, fuse and relay if they aren't already there, connect the fog light connectors hiding behind the bumper to the fog lights and mount up.

If he does what I said in post #11, yes he can turn the fogs on whenever the key is turned to ACC.

I just did this mod....and I am having a problem. My fog lights come on when the switch is turned and all but my drivers side head light also comes on?
I connected both the wires together with one piece of wire. was i just suppose to connect the white and blue wire into the red/yello wire coming from the relay?
how i have it now is the white and blue wire spliced and going into the red and yellow wire. so it looks like an "H"

dont mind the other fog light being out, i swapped them and it still did it.

You need to CUT the red/yellow wire, and connect the relay side to white/blue. Otherwise when you turn the key, the white/blue will power not only the fog relay, but everything else that the red/yellow is connected to as well.
