engine shakes when i accelerate

so this morning i hop in my car to go to work, and as i push on the gas my engine shakes, and then as i get up to about 3k rpms it stops, and then when i shift into second and accelerate it shakes and is really sluggish.
could it be my fuel pump? plugs? oil filter?

help pleasee!

Hmm dont know, but I know the oil filter has nothing to do with it. It could be a bad injector, bad spark plug wires, bad egr valve, and the list goes on and on. You may have to give some more details.

Your spark plugs could be fouled, FI system might need adjustments, fuel filter, timing or a leaky mani.

Check your motor mounts.

thats the first thing i checked, and those are fine.
when im just sitting in neutral and push on the accelerator it shakes until about 3k rpms.

now when i actually drive the car, the lower the rpms the more it shakes.

another thing i noticed is my car is sucking down gas, i put in ten dollars in my tank and it only got me 36 miles..

Sounds like you have a cylinder (or two) that isn't firing. It could be fuel injectors, bad plug wires or the distributor cap and rotor.

Im putting my money on the injectors, exactly how mine drove when my #4 went bad.

start the car and start pulling injector wires one at a time, when you pull it and it DOESN'T change the way the engine is running (or very little) you know that its that cylinder thats affected

chances are 99% injector 1% stuck valve, which i doubt.

Injectors, use the longest screwdriver you have as a stethoscope to hear the clicking of injectors opening and closing, whichever one (or two) isn't clicking has open circuited. Alternatively, take your spark plugs out and crank the motor, if petrol sprays everywhere like its coming out of a hose then its the injectors. If this isn't the case at least you have ruled it out.

Injectors are bad...I had the coil section fail in 2 of mine, but with my engine bottom end being balanced it was hard to tell there was a miss during acceleration, I felt the power difference and the could hear a slight miss @ idle...

Hey Jeremeep, you solved the issue with your Max? Sounds like you said the Seafoam helped you with shaking during acceleration. Excellent stuff that Seafoam shyt, great way to save some dough on new injectors.
