CV joint busted??
CV joint busted??
My car was feeling weird lately, My driverside front tire keeps making this whop whop whop sound when im on dry pavement, and the tire is fairly new! I looked behind the tire and noticed that I have a grease like substance all over my front end ( tie rod ends, the cv axle itself, and the balljoints/control arm. Im looking in shock, and wondering how did this happen? Im thinking it could be symptoms of a bad front engine mount that allowd this to happen, as I can feel it as I am driving, the engine jumping when I accelerate on the right or the left. It seems like a difficult job to do, but from the way things are going, looks like im gonna have to replace it asap. So if the joint is busted, then that means its not gonna spin as fast as the other side??
VG30E isn't lsd so if either of your cv axles break you wouldn't be able to move at all. Believe me on my VE30DE with lsd i had one cv axle break all the way on me and only because of lsd was the car able to be limped home to be able to repair it.
wow I didnt know that, Looks like Im gonna have to get that fixed asap! But are the axles the same for the VG and VE driver sides/ passenger side? I took my car to a local mechanic a few months ago to change my driver side hub temporairly until I got a new wheel bearing, he told me my cv joint was no good, and offered me one he had lying around the shop, off another maxima, it looked a little different from mine, but I dont know.
I had a torn boot on my blue VE when I got it on the road last may and didn't realize it. After I drove it a few times I checked underneath and noticed CV joint geese sprayed everywhere.
I **** you not I super glued it back together and it's held this whole time
Well I think he probably means the boot as opposed to the cv joint itself physically breaking.
