fuel leak... ugh!

Back again my peeps... I filled up with $40 yesterday and went about 48miles im suppose to get 26mpg if i had i think 13-14gals how did i burn the whole 13-14 gals in 48hwy miles i would say it was a few city miles which is 19mpg still shouldn't have me right above E correct?

+1 I did see a fuel leak on the fuel rail and i do smell gas when the heat is on from time to time... can somebody please help I really need to find the source of this problem because we all know gas is not cheap these days 3.03per gal... so if there is some thing that i can do like replace the hose that connects to the rail or something please let me know whats the best thing to do.

...huh..?

How do you figure 48 miles is 19 mpg? And you said it was a "few" city miles. Well, how many? You can't possibly be saying you only got 48 miles on the whole tank..?

well you know where the fuel is coming from. seems pretty common-sensical to me to fix the obvious fuel leak...

Wow you must have a massive, massive fuel leak to leak out 12-13 gallons of fuel. I would think its location should be overwhelmingly obvious/easy to find

1. fill the car up with premium
2. get a torch (metal or flaming club, caveman style preferably)
3. start the car
4. poke around for the leak

this will solve your problem..

..your VG problem, that is

ill take some pix 2marrow of where it was coming from and you really could tell unless you looked real hard i guess it was coming out even faster while driving but i did find it and it was a rubber hose i saw in another thread that it a size 5/16 fuel injected hose is that correct?
