Rear strut mounts
Hello everyone, i noticed klunking in starting to happen in the back end also feels bumby, another words i need new rear shocks and strut mounts.
my question is tho, i have the GXE and during the summer(winter car) im going to swap over to rear dics brakes witch is going to require the SE rear strut assembly. SOOO. are the strut mounts the same for the GXE and the SE? or do the SE rear assembly require SE strut mounts?
or are are all the struts mounts the same?
i also found these on Ebay, would they work?

The only major difference between the Se and the GXE are the springs, unless you have Sonar Suspension. If your GXE has the Sonar Suspension the the struts are different cause there electronic with actuators/connectors on the top. The Sonars use GXE springs but the struts tighten/lower a little for a sportier/tighter ride. The SE still has the sportier ride do to the sport/tighter springs. As James 92se has stated the struts and the strut mounts are the same on both models except Sonar...even the Sonars do use the same strut mounts though and just about everything else. I'm getting ready to convert my rear drums to disc by using the SE strut assembly. I'm keeping the Sonar Struts in though and just using the hardware I need from the SE for the rear disc. It's gonna be a pain but well worth the extra labor. I gotta do this swap if I'm gonna wear some new shoes on my Bytch...any kind of decent rims won't look as nice with the rear drum in comparison to rear/front disc brakes.

I'm wearing Mevotech reinforced mounts with GR2 inserts, coincidentally I made the mistake of grabbing some cheap no name struts for the front. They ride like ****, so I have a pair of GR2 waiting to go in.

Yeah I too have to replace my rear struts, as the back of the car is starting to sit alot lower than it used to. I have a gxe with four wheel disk brakes though. Im just gonna buy the inserts and have a shop install them. I have three GXE springs and one SE spring on the driver side because I was thinking about putting all SE springs on the car, but I think im gonna go grab another GXE strut from the JY and keep it all GXE all around.

What do you mean by GR2 inserts? Do you mean the rear strut cartridges?

That black thing at the side is actually the nut that you need to use to lock the cartridge in place, discarding the original nut that held the gland stuff.
