Car hums at stop lights or in traffic?

My car has this almost humming noise which seems to be a massive vibration that only happens while im in DRIVE sitting at a stop or light or in traffic. While the car is in motion it is completely normal or if I put the car into NEUTRAL while stopped it goes away also. Any idea at all what could be causing this?

I have this problem too, most likely it would be from bad motor mounts. Which i might get to do this summer, they tend to crack and split. Also what is your rpm at when drive, cause when mines dip alittle below 750rpm it vibrates.

check your motor mounts, probably dry rotted like my passenger side one was, I had a massive vibration on the passenger side of my car, got the mount replaced and the vibration went away.

Yea Ill check the motor mounts....also yes my car vibrates if the rpms drop below the 750. Sometimes caused by my power steering

Another vote for motor mounts. I had to replace the front passenger mount about a year ago not due to any noticable vibration but since it failed inspection. I made the mistake of only replacing the front one. The back one didn't "look bad" so I didn't worry about it. However, it was very difficult to replace just the front one. I got it in, but the rubber was quite distorted.

Fast forward a year: I was having the same symptoms as the OP (my teeth felt like they were going to fall out at a stop light). The front mount had some cracks and the rear one didn't "look bad". Fortunately, I dropped the crossmember and replaced both and everthing fit much better with two new mounts.

There are some under the radar

I could be hiding one in my parking lot, and you would not even know it. In hyper mint condition, and with hyper mods.
