I've heard mixed opinions, but I know for sure Level 10 says its bad, but that might be because they want you to buy their "auto shifter"...personally I don't do it, I just stomp it in D!!

I used to have this

problem and like it was said NISSAN *auto trannys arent that great and dont tolerate abuse.* I solved it by getting a 92 SE 5spd lol I dont have to pretend to shift anymore.

i'm also a 4spd auto guy - sometimes...i only do it once in a while for improved accel. and sometimes just for fun accelerating at a normal speed. but i don't wanna have to pay for another tranny any time soon.

it's all in your head...i've tested manually shifting at the track on numerous occasions and times are faster when you let the ECU do the work

I used to manual shift in my auto max wishing it was a 5-spd. It can hurt the tranny if you don't shift correctly or if you are revving at the same time when shifting. Don't downshift the auto tranny. That is very bad. Going from D-2-1 will shorten your tranny life.

nissan tranny's are the best,

you can do burn outs with them all the time, by revving up to 4k rpm in neutral then dropping it into D... after that just keep the pedal to the metal

Wouldnt the jolt of the high rev of the engine kill the tranny from a complete stop in nuetral then droping it into drive...

btw are there any test tracks or places to know how fast you 1/4 times are... the reason i am asking is because there are no tracks or facilaties around nyc, ny

LOL.... Yeah ... wait.. can you hear the gears grinding....
I sometimes use 1-2-D for more power... not as much as acceleration....besides... stomp on the gas and let overdrive kick in...

btw thanks for the link
