Fuel needle problems

Hello, I recently been having problems with my fuel needle, when I fill up tank the needle goes up normally but once I reach 1/4 left of the tank the needle drop below empty and sometimes is just moving a little above or below E but I know that's not being accurate, what could cause this? and how can be fixed?

One more thing as a reference, I have noticed I have a fuel leak when I fill up gas there is a little dripping from somewhere (I have not been able to spot where exactly) behind the rear driver wheel, it's just a few drops and then stops, this happens only when I fill it up maybe 3/4 or full. I don't know if this has something to do with the needle or not, but just mentioned as a reference.

Thank you.

For the inaccurate fuel reading, I had that same issue almost a year ago. Change the fuel sender unit that's in the fuel tank. http://forums.maxima.org/7491193-post611.html

As for the fuel leak, I forget which hose, but either the main hose or the vent hose from the filler neck to the tank is cracked so it needs to be changed.
