Sounds like a motorboat! If it sounds like that inside I can only imagine outside. Try some other combinations but I would say cat and resonator. I have a full WSP 2.5 and finished it with just a turbo dual tip muff and I think it sounds fine...not too loud and not too wimpy.

 

Put on another resonator, it will quiet down the exhaust quite a bit. On my max, I got another resonator put on a couple days ago. It toned down the exhaust a few decimals and the drone was a lot quieter. The setup I have is a WSP y-pipe, catalytic converter, custom 2.5" piping catback, 2 resonator (one unknown brand and a Magnaflow) and a Magnaflow muffler #14862.
I can get a video up for you in a couple of days.

 

The inlet on the 14862 is 2.25 while the pipe is 2.5, isnt it all suppose to be 2.5?

 

Most of the universal Magnaflow muffler only came in a 2.25" inlet. The muffler shop just made a small section in the rear from 2.5" to 2.25" for the muffler. I was thinking of switching it out to a Vibrant street power muffler #1032 which has a 2.5" inlet.

i have wsp ypipe and no cat i have a straight pipe straight to the resonator to the muffler. i might buy a different muffler later and get duals done when i add the second resonator. ill post a video tomorrow of the sound mine has.

No. I don't post much on here, but I know maximahappy22. A local neighbor and went to school with him. When he was selling both his Maximas, I tried to get as much parts off of it, like the WSP Y-Pipe and NWP spacers.

 

I used to live up in Tacoma WA and went to a couple of the NW maxima's guys weird bunch half drive like demons and other half like little old people trying to not break laws. Not very much spirited drivers. by any chance chunky you know of a emerald green ve with gold rims up there? doubtful but thought i would ask.

 

The last time I saw an emerald green Maxima was Alex's (maximahappy22) VE that he sold.

do you know who he sold it too because that guy almost ran my friend tyson off the road on I-5 while in his White maxima VE-5. Then my friend when he had my maxima while i was away on a trip beat that green maxima by 4 to 5 car lengths. which i was trying to be the one to beat that maxima but didnt get that luck. That owner either A doesnt know how to drive that maxima or B its just not as fast and well tuned as mine compared to his.

need some help guys..i just got a called from a local shop that is saying i'm missing a 6" pipe from catalytic convertor.

I got the mandrel bent system from the mentioned post above, resonator, warpspeed y pipe, and hi flow cat. What is this local guy talking about? I'm going at 12pm to get my car..he said he could only installed the warpsee because i'm missing the 6"'

Did anyone ran into any problems like this?

Its a bit loud..actually a lot loud, i see other cars with hugh 'turbo' exhaust, like 6" hole and doesnt sound as loud as mine..which only has like a 3" twin tip. So far 3 people asked me when i'm going to get that broken muffler fixed..i had to explain its not..

As soon as i get my tranny problem fixed i'm going to get a G35 muffler and boot the magnaflow

lol! i love the nice deep tones from outside the car..but inside the car creates like an tunnel effect and it kills my ears..as you see from one of my videos i keep the music turned up real loud..so that helps..

ill look into the g35 muffler. i was looking at those aftermarket mufflers pep boys carry that look like stock mufflers. they have a good selection from regular to high flow ones and they have can crappers like the one i have.
