My brake pedal is still spongey after bleeding. Whats next? replace the master cylinder? If so is it incredibly difficult?

 

spongey brakes is air still in the system.
did you have a helper bleed? if so, who did what?

did you open the system (ie replacing calipers)? if so maybe you pulled a Redmaxpa007 and put the calipers on the wrong side of the car so that the bleeders are in the wrong spot on the caliper

 

Bleed them again either with help or using a one man bleeding tool......

 

A friend of mine was helping but Ill take your suggestions and Ill do it again

 

I used gravity bleeding and a light tap with the hammer on the calipers with mine (4 wheel disc, non-abs) and had wonderful results. I have a suburban I want to try the same method with (abs equipped) and see if it works. Of course I will do my research before hand.

 

Spongey brakes can be master cylinder but it can also be jammed or seized callers, slides, pins, worn discs over minimum rotors. Best bet is to check it all, starting with the easiest bit eg pads. If it comes to being the booster and master cylinder, they are usually the last thing to go. Also check brake linrd

Also check brake lines for cracking, leaking etc, esp if the pedal goes almost to the floor when you push hard on it.
