Z32 caliper leaking at the brake line
Is this common? I just noticed my driver z32 caliper is leaking where the S/S brake line screws in. It's dripping pretty good and has coated the inside of my wheel in brake fluid bubbling all the paint up (ugh). I checked it and it's not loose at all so I'm not sure why it'd be leaking randomly.
This isn't the typical brake line hose with a crush washer and whatnot, this style just seems to screw in. Is this a problem with the line or the caliper?
Will wrapping the threads in Teflon tape do any good?

It's a flared fitting. teflon tape won't do you any good. The sealing surface is on the end of the fitting- the threads should theoretically never see fluid.
take it apart and take a good look at the mating surfaces and see if you can find any debris or whatever in the fitting. check both ends- the hose and the caliper.
clean it out with a q-tip or something and screw it back together.

Ugh, well, I took it apart tonight after work and some of the threads on the caliper side look a little stripped.
I don't know how this would have happened as I've never had the brake line removed from the caliper since I first put them on years ago. If I stripped it when I first put it on years ago I don't see why/how it wouldn't have been leaking from day one.
Is this caliper effectively ruined now?

only thing I can think of is to try and helicoil it, but you probably can't do that due to the flare in the end of the fitting.
The upside is that reman calipers are only about $65 each at O'Reillys.

I don't even remember what year to order these calipers for. I *think* they're the 30mm?
grab a ruler. not hard. 26mm= 1" 30mm= almost 1 1/4"
if it's one of my brake kits or Jeff's, then it's the 30mm.
If it's 30mm aluminum caliper, then order a '91.
last time I checked prices on these calipers, they were 65.99 + 50 core. so 115 outright purchase.

Those are cheap! I paid about $70 for a remaned Q45 caliper. I knew I should have gone Z32 fronts for the 240.
Off topic, but I only went Q45 because it's a "cheaper" setup all around. No need for conversion lines and I got both calipers from a junkyard for $30. Nice to know how cheap remanned Z32 fronts are though, will probably change later.
that's measuring the outside of the piston or the outside of the rubber skirt around the piston?
I went and checked today at O'reillys and they're $72 now. Still cheap enough.
I guess I need to buy new conversion lines too. Do the 240sx-Z32 lines I see all over the internet work? I'd assume they do but would like to make sure
