Tranny Cooler questions cont...

Matt...
Are the instuctions that come with the cooler sufficient (if you sort of know what you are doing...) or does it require good explanation? Has anyone done a write-up on this? Man, I'm trying to get all the information I can about these different tasks, and then as the parts start to come in, just whip out the instructions and go to work, or in the case of those more complicated jobs, get someone qualified, that (that can read the directions...)go to work for me

I would say for mounting the cooler itself they are. But as to were or how to mount it, they are not sufficent. My suggestion is to remove the grille to get room. Loosen the radiator mounts (upper and lower) so you can get some room. Then you have to figure out where to route the ATF lines, if you bypass the radiator itself it will be easier. But you should get a big cooler if that is the case. Also you should feel both of the tranny lines to see which one is the cooler one, because the cooler one is the return line. You should have about 2-3 qaurts of ATF too because Eric and I drained about that much when we did his.

Go to http://grprete.jnet.net/Greg's%20Gar...n%20Cooler.htm
it has a great set of detailed instructions, and lots of pictures. I am going to install mine this afternoon.
I'll tell you how it goes.

this maybe a dumb question but will lowering the temp in the trany about 70 degrees, mess with the computer or the overall engine? because it is droping in temp. i was just thinking about that while i was walking to dinner. thanks
