I see a lot here in SoCal.
I wish the 7th Gen didn't share a platform with the Altima. Other than that, 5 and 7 reminds me of the "modern" 3rd gen, just needs to rectangle that back.

Same to the North up here in Dallas, I see about 5 to 8 sometimes more 3rd gens mainly GXE's a day in various conditions. I see a second gen or 2 at least twice a week but never a 1st gen. When I go home to S. Cali I see tons of 2nd and 3rd gen's again most are GXE,GL's in various conditions as well.

I have to see this mint '93 SE/VE all the time in Riverhead, NY that this chick got for only1100.00 cause the dealer thought the lifters were shot. Turns out it was only a slight lifter tap upon start up after sitting for a couple of months. Only 68,000 miles on her and she's in mint condition in&out and all original. The engine bay is as clean as new, really clean. If I would have known they were gonna give it up for that cheap I would have copped that.

I haven't seen a 3rd gen in my area in a while, that meaning years. I live in the DC metro area. I do travel frequently within this area. There are more Corollas, Camrys, and Accords (those damn accords just dont go away!) from the time the 3rd gen was sold than actual 3rd gen Maxmias. I find it quite sad because I always liked the 3rd gen. I always look for them on craigslist. Seems those that somehow survived are in really crappy condition, worth no more than $1200 with high mileage.

I stop and stare when I see a 3rd gen in Upstate NY. It's become a rare sighting around here, and usually it's a rust-bucket.

Real shame, too. One of the best, most unique takes on a 4-door "sport" sedan ever made. The 3rd Gen is what I think of when I think of Maxima. Since then there have been great cars named "Maxima", but in name only.

My 5.5 Gen SE 6MT is far more of a car than any 3rd gen ever was, but if you were to ask me which one is more of a Maxima than the other, I'd pick the 3rd gen. You could actually pull off a U-turn in those cars. In mine, you have to make a double-K. It's kind of embarrassing.

I see them on a regular basis here where I live. I've even seen a couple of them that look like they're garage kept. Every once and a while I'll see a 2nd gen, and I haven't seen a 1st gen in a very long time. I did mistaken a Cressida for one in traffic, and when I got up close enough I realized it wasn't a Maxima.

I couldn't agree with you more. When I think of the Maxima I always think of the 3rdgen. My aunt had bought a brand new 1987 2ndgen but that's not what comes to mind. An older friend of mine growing up bought a brand spanking new 1993 Maxima GXE, it was the black color IIRC, all leather. This guy was a big shot to us back then, he was like 4-5years older and was always doing Big Things. It was a big deal back then to own the new Maxima, the 3rdgen changed the whole game for Nissan. That's what I remember...Tony pulling up in his new Max and everybody swarming his 3G to check out the interior/engine. I was only into American Muscle back then but I did like the 3G.

My coworker is thinking about getting a 93 gxe with a se gauge cluster(white with 145 mph) swap. She think a 94 lexus would be better. In a way it would, that way I can buy the 93 gxe for my wife.

Up here in WI i see plenty of them, but i never see many VE's. i see some that are mint, most are beat to ****. i've only seen one around here cleaner than mine.

it's kind of sad to see. i plan on buying another VE, hopefully 5 speed so i can build it. but as stated, it's hard to find the clean ones, around here anyhow.

I don't see many here in the Seattle area, probably 1-2/week (Although I don't have as much time to stop and look when I'm riding my R6). I do however pass by this 93 GXE just like mine in my neighborhood every day that looks in slightly worse shape because of a dent in one of the doors. I swear if my Maxima dies for some reason I'm taking the door off, and handing it to that guy!

I see a few VG/GXE cars around, not many VEs though. I think the VE population in my driveway (2) is bigger than the VE population in my whole town

A few years ago a papa johns delivery guy around here had a pearl white VE that sounded like it had a misfire, i always heard the sputtering out the tailpipe as he would drive around. I shouldve offered to fix his misfire problem in exchange for a free pie

lol yeah seems that way. I did jump the gun a bit when I bought the bimmer. i didnt get a chance to do what i wanted with the VE cause i wanted to rent a garage to work on it just as i was buying the bmw, but i then realized i couldnt afford everything nor could i find a garage for rent, and thats where it all went downhill. had to get rid of something and the bimmer was the obvious choice. my friend whos on here(bklynsmoeVE) owns my VE now, so I still get to ride in it and drive it pretty often. you still see your white VG around?

my poor old VG died a horrible death. The kid who bought it ended up not taking care of it. He got in trouble with the law, moved to TX and it sat in someones driveway in OH. And that's where it got a beat down. someone broke in, stole the stereo, and then somehow let a lion loose in it, because the interior got torn to shreds. it's probably in a junk yard now.

whenver i miss it too much, i punch the gas on my bimmer

Sorry to hear man, it was nice and clean. Those G coupe wheels looked perfect on it. Throw some pics up if you still got some layin around.

But yeah, I feel you on the bimmer lol.. I did do the head gasket on it last summer, but that was kinda my fault.
