Up to around 2010 I used to see about 1 3rd Gen a week. Come to think of it this year, do you guys see them anymore? I only saw about 2-3 in 2011 total.
Curious if this is just in Canada. I imagine most are in the JY by now.

Rarely seen on the streets, always seen in the junkyard. There were never a lot of 3rd Maximas where I live, and there still isn't. Accords were all over the place (and still are), Maximas have never been.
I still see some around from time to time. Probably 1-3 a week. I had an older lady come into my work yesterday driving a beautiful white 2nd gen. It was in pretty much perfect condition.
I see more 4th Gens then anything. Maybe that's because I drive one.

I still see quite a few 3rd gens but not many in good shape. They're mostly junked up GXEs.
I see more 5th gens now more than even 4th gens. And many of the 5th gens I see are pretty ragged.

There's a 3rd gen
parked in a redemption center about 200yds from where I work, same color. think its a GXE tho. Tempted to go pull the door panel inserts off it for mine...
That's about it. I suspect that mine will be one of one or two at the NNE meetup in October.

every time the junkyard gets new vehicles theres usually a few 3rd gens, mostly GXE's but about 6 months ago there were 2 VE 5spd. i went on the weekend and there were about 4-5 GXE's
i was told mine was there (i sold it to a private person so it wouldnt get taken there but he took it there), a buddy said that a gold 3rd gen with stickers on the back, CF centerpiece etc was there so i gunned it over and ran through each row 3 times (out of hundreds of imports lol) and couldnt see it, the suspension was all gone apparently though. whoever got parts got a goodie mine. still dont know why i couldnt find it, so either it got crushed early or someone for some reason bought the rest of it whole
at work theres been a few GXE and one old lady with a VE automatic
i got to drive it

I feel ya on that one. I see one like every 4-6 months. Usually in bad condition. I can't wait to see the look on ppls faces when I pull up on the side of them with the same car but in far better condition than theirs.
East TN, see these cars constantly. Needless to say this area is full of Maxima's. I probably pass a 3gen-5gen daily. Add having passed several 6-7gens over a weeks time.
1-2 gens fairly rare here. See one every month or two. Time to time I see this one 2nd gen station wagon in decent shape. Originally wanted to turbo one of the wagons! LOL!

The Pearl white 93 VE MAX that had only 68,000 miles on her drives all around the town next to me since the chick bought it. They gave it to her for 1100.00 and it's the cleanest be I've seen in person in a long time.

I see a couple a week in Philly besides my 92 SE with 155K on the clock which is still a daily driven commuter car. No weekend driving or errands, just a 2-way 20 mile commute on the weekdays.
We had a pearl 93 Fully loaded it ran for 18 years past. We sold it with 240K on it never saw a repair shop in all the time we had it. I stilll see them all the time 89-93 was the most reliable generation in my opinion. http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...Picture004.jpg

I've driven both & prefer the 3rd Gen. The 4th Gen is a bit lighter in the front end & a tick faster, but they have issues with oil leaks (and don't handle quite as well IMO). I prefer the interior & exterior styling of the 3rd Gen as well.
As far as I'm concerned it mainly comes down to personal preference. Just my $0.02
