You bumped a bunch of dead threads in a row with useless posts to get your post count up to the 15 limit (or whatever it is) to be able to start a new thread. I'm not hating, do what you gotta do

i was told by some people that spraying down a engine can cause misfires and stuff so i just used a degreaser, wet cloth, and toothbrush on the Maxima. asked the guys at work and they said it doesnt hurt anything so i covered the igniter and air filter on the Supra, sprayed degreaser allover, and sprayed it down and let it idle for 10 minutes after. worked good

I just sprayed some Purple Power all over the engine bay and went over it with a pressure washer

Pressure washing is great if you don't have to worry about electrical connections. A hose and engine degreaser work fine, just make sure you're being careful of electrical connections, and be sure the car is at least a little warmed up so water evaporates quicker. Nothing beats a paper towel/towel and some elbow grease.
