Hey Everyone,
I have an 89 Maxima Grey mettalic exterior and black interior and would like to upgrade the steering wheel to a newer black one. What years would fit and also allow me to connect the cruise control? Does anyone have any for sale? Any pictures of the different steering wheel models that I can choose from? If you need to send pictures to my email address send them to:
halston.arias@qwest.com
Thanks for your help.

I'll bet that any Nissan steering wheel that has cruise controls and no air bag would work. So you can even look at Stanzas and Sentras from the same era. The better looking ones would be from SE models.

if your steering wheel has an air bag you can not change to a non-airbag step up. because it against the law. correct me if i am wrong. i know in nj the dmv would not pass me becasue of this. it really sucked.

nope your right...that's why u see a nice badge "air bag" or "SRS" on the dash by the VIN.
if it came w/ a bag u need to keep it on.
someone else disagreed w/ me on this b4..oh well.

89 dont have airbags obviously. I have an 89 gxe and i took a wheel off a 90 SE . I havent put it on yet but Im pretty sure it'll fit, plus it has the same cruise buttons. i personally dont like any of those racing wheels

I bought a new Grant GT steering wheel. It's smaller so I can turn faster. I still have my old oem wheel I could get rid off I suppose, but you should look in junk yards first.

So what did you do with your cruise control buttons?

The buttons? I just disconnected them at the little harness inside the steering wheel. I thought about relocating them but never bothered becuase I don't take many long trips and I'm used to driving 20 minutes to the city, have a 5 speed and just really don't use the buttons! So, I just think the Grant just looks a lot better than oem.
