93 Maxima radio cuts out, clicking in fuse area

I just purchased a 93 Maxima for my 16 year old son and am new to this forum, so please be kind :-) I am looking for some help in figuring out some issues with the car. The most important one for him is the radio.

The stock Bose Radio started cutting in and out, it does not lose power, cause the digital part remains up and the antenna remains raised.
There is a clicking noise around the fuse box area when it goes out and just before it comes back on. I have checked all the standard fuses and find non of them blown. It appears to be a short of some kind, but I can not figure out where. Replacing it is not an option at this time.

Anyone have any advice of where to look or how to fix it?

Thanks for any help you can give.

There's 3 relays down there. Replace them and go from there.

You are correct it was a relay down there that had gone bad.
Now I have a antenna issue. It will go down while the radio is playing and it will sometimes not go up when I turn the radio on. The original broken antenna was replaced with one from a PullApart.
Any ideas on what would cause that? I have searched on here, but not really found anything about it.

Good to hear.

The antenna probably needs replaced (or fixed) again. My antenna hasn't been up for years, not because it's broken, but because I don't need it. That and there isn't a radio specific output on my Pioneer deck, just a remote wire. When connected to remote, the antenna operates in all modes whenever the deck is on. Radio reception is good enough with the antenna retracted, so I just disconnected the wire completely. You might want to try it. Unless you listen to the radio a lot and reception is scarce.
