...I was surprised how the interior wasn't much bigger than ours! If it's bigger at all I couldn't really tell. Also the front seats felt a bit smaller because of the console and dash design.

So where did all this extra space go to make this such a huge car?

I like my 3rd Gen!

I have many vises against the 5th GEN. Overall the car has a presence of bulkiness and a very plastic feel. I could go on and on, however I won't.
new BMW for me end of next year, unless the 350Z proves worthy. Who know I might just get a TOYOTA TUNDRA 4X4 Limited with a TRD blower and jack it up. You never know with me.

I like my 3rd gen a ton more than my father in-law's 2001. I only wish we had a folding rear seat.

Like mine more than the I35 I test drove last weekend as well. That thing is a dog.

Wow! From a BMW to a Toyota Tundra. Big difference there Mr. Rose. Just wait until the new Z comes out, should be a sweet car.

Yeah I jump around on potential purchases quite a bit. Interesting how the 91 MAXIMA has retained it's place in my heart over the years.
Still not sure on the whole "next car" thing. I've also been eye balling a 90' ZTT white on red with 33k on the clock. A family member of mine has a TUNDRA SR5 with the IFORCE V8. WOW is all I can say. I drove a 4X4 as well and I like the idea of a truck. It would be fitting seeing how I do live in TEXAS. Nevertheless anything I drive will not stay stock for long.

yeah the new

Z should be hot, have you seen the new Ferrari? that car is crazy.
I wish I could keep my third gen but im going to have to upgrade after this new one I got because I cant find any with low miles, probably gonna go with a 99se 5spd although the 5th gen style is starting to grow on me and 255 6spd sounds nice, when I test drove it it wasnt that bad but it does have that "plasticy" feel to it but most new cars do now, the new Sentra's interior is horrible.

Take out back seat, remove cosmetic/plastic carpeted divider, replace back seat: Whoilla! You now can lower your arm rest and at least have a decent pass through for the occasional Home Depot project.
Thnk you, that is all.
Carry ON.

Most ugly cars do grow on people after a while, that is their trick. Some cars have that "It looks OK" look, but deep down you know it is pain to the eyes. Then after about a year or so you start thinking, ah this won't be too bad. Then your hooked!

In what way (slow, heavy, etc)? Isn't the I35 that new Infiniti model that has all those auto journalists excited because it comes with a 6-speed and in a wagon form?

Maybe someday I'll modify my rear seat armrest so it can pass-through - modding the whole seat to fold down is too hardcore for me!

Oh yeah, and the more I think about it, the more massive the new Max seems on the outside with little more room inside. If only we had their driveline......

This reminds me of that joke where the ugly chick gets better looking in a proportionate amount to how much you've had to drink.

The increase in size has been very gradual over the years. The 4th gen is just a little bigger than ours and the 5th is just a little longer than that. Actually, the interior is one of the things I like the best about it. Me getting a 6sp SE is only a matter of time and money.

Actually I wouldn't mind the unatractive part so much if it had some other virtues.

Case in point, Subaru WRX.
