Issue with Speed Sensor?
My speedometer and odometer hasn't been working since 2003. The needle just remained at 0 the entire time.
Yesterday I went to the JY and pulled a speed sensor. I installed it into my Max today. When I start the car, the needle now jumps to the maxim right...and when I turn the ignition of, it falls back to 0. Odometer still non-fuctional. Is there something else I need to do to do to calibrate this thing? (The yellow plastic pinion gear on both speed sensors look mint condition)
ps. my tachometer and all other gauges have always worked perfectly

Check the connection and wiring. The easiest way is by testing the speed sensor. Pull out the sensor, attach the multimeter prongs at those two pins. Spin the pinion quickly and check if there's a voltage change. If it's not the sensor, pull out the binnacle and use a DMM to check the connectors. Electrical stuff can't be simply visually inspected.
