GXE would be a VG30E which does not have coil packs. With car running pull plug wires one by one to see if notice a change. If do snap it back on quick. Say you pull of number 4 and 3 plug wire and car does not idle any different. Chances are those injectors are bad. In order to test injectrors you need a ohm meter.

92 would still be the crappy non-weatherproof injector connectors too, right? To get those off there's a little U shaped metal clip that you have to slide out before they can be removed from the injector.

VE had coilpacks, VG have cap/rotor. when was the last time the distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs, and wires were replaced?

afterwards i would try replacing the fuel filter and cleaning the MAF, if those and a tuneup dont fix it i would probably look to the injectors

how heavy of a miss is it? just the odd miss or almost like its going to stall out?

I'd definitely try the method akurtzer57 suggested if you haven't already since it's quick, free, and will tell you if it's a specific cylinder. Mine was running real awful last year and when I did that it narrowed it down to the cylinder that ended up having a bad injector.

Its not a really have miss but you can tell it is missing and it stalls/ hesitates a little when you accelerate an I have not tried that method yet so all I do is unplug each spark wire one by one and how will I know which one it is

If the idling changes when you unplug it, then it's not that one. You're looking to see if there's any specific cylinders that don't cause a change when you unplug the wire, which means that one isn't firing.

You'll want to check the injectors for cylinders 2 and 6 with an ohmmeter (back left and back right if I remember right). It should read fairly low, something a little over 10 ohms I think? 11 to 14? I forget. If it's less or gives a very high / no reading, it's toast.

Or if you have a mechanic's stethoscope you can put it against the injectors to see if they're clicking (compare it to the other injectors).

Right, I had it completely backwards.

I haven't found a good picture to mark it on, but the injectors are right there by where the plug wires go down to the plugs, just under the intake plenum. Look for a metal tube that has 3 electrical connections going to it (the 3 injectors). You'll have to pull out a U shaped locking clip out the bottom of it before the connector will come off (use a small screwdriver to pry it out and be super careful not to lose it, they like to pop off and disappear), then you have the two terminals on the injector you can measure across.

you can buy MAF cleaner, usually you spray it lightly about 10 times and then let it dry

That's the injector circuit. Check the wiring then the injectors afterwards.

And if the wires are good and I can hear all the injectors tick but that doesn't mean there working correctly

it is a high voltage v-6 ignition ,same could happen if the plug wires were too close to injector harnesses?

The current from the wires touching the injector harness could also give you issues. Something that usually happens over a period of time, but could chafe through and arc off and cause disruption of injector performance. Thats what he was trying to slide your way.
