Rough idle, engine missing

My engine has recenly started to idle rough. I first noticed this after I had gone full throttle after about a 5 minute warmup. The engine proceedded to run rough( felt like I had an injector problem again, which I replaced a month ago) until I parked it. I turned it off and turned it on and it ran rough again. This happened again about 4 days later, but the "missing" of the engine was sporaditic to where it missed every other time I pressed on the throttle. This was 2 days ago. Lately all it seems to be doing is having a rather rough idle, it's pronounced even more by my wsp y, carsound cat, and tsudo muffler. I called the mechanic I do business with and told him about the engine missing, he thinks its another injector going out. I really don't wanna spend another 250 to get a new injector a month after I replaced a different one. Does anyone have anything other than the injector causing this problem and if so, how do I go about fixing? Thanks alot.

You can do a SEARCH and find that this has been discussed like ten times in the past month or you can read on what I'm about to tell you and take it for what it's worth...

-Check spark plugs. Sounds like one of them could be broken.
-check wires. you may have one split and you're getting an arc
-hell, just give it a complete tune up. Even if this doesn't fix it, it couldn't hurt.

A little tip in "backwoodz mechaniks" for that injector thing:
If you take a coat hanger, straighten it out, and stick it in the end of a stethescope leaving about 4 or 5 inches and cutting the rest off, you can set the wire on top of each of the injectors and listen to the tick. This is not foolproof (as it's totally backwoodz) but it has worked for me in the past. If you have an irregular tick on one of the injectors, that injector may be going bad or may just be dirty. If you think it's just dirty, take it to a trusted mechanic and get your fuel injection cleaned. DON'T use some crappy Pep Boys cleaner as this is nothing but a bunch of detergents that were never meant to be introduced into your fuel system anyway. Get it done professionally and look to spend 100-200 bucks doing it.
If you don't get a tick at all, however, the injector is most likely bad. You will know when you listen to the car running what I mean by tick.

I hop that helps. I'm no professional but I have had this problem and spent 1500 bucks before I finally realized it was a $100 problem. Good luck.

I am not sure about the engine missing, but the best thing (in my opinioun) to do for a rough idle is to clean the throttle body. Search "throttle body" on this site and you will find directions. It is only a 30 min job tops. I did it to mine and it idles smoother and faster now. This may not be your problem, but for 30 min's and a can of throttle body cleaner, it's worth a shot.
