Self-acting door lock button
Self-acting door lock button
When I open the driver's side door with the key, the lock button pulls itself back down. I have to hold the key turned in the lock while the button pulls itself partially down a few times. After 4-5 up-down cycles, it will give up the fight and settle in the up position. Then I can take out the key and open the door.
Do I have to replace the lock mechanism or solenoid in the door, or is there a bad relay under the dash that's causing this problem?

I have the same problem, and I read that someone said it was a faulty door lock timer. Is there any way that this can be replaced by me? Or do I have to pay to have it replaced?

They are called door lock actuators and there is one in each door. I think it's like a little electric motor that moves the door lock up and down. I had mine replaced at the dealer when my VTC's were done and the new actuators cost about $120 each, but they may be cheaper through courtesy. No more fighting the car to get inside
hehehe when i close my door, they lock!!!!!!! talk about ****ing me off! so i have to take my keys with me allthe time. they open fine with the key, but if someone inside tries to open the drivers side door lock it'll fight ya for it!!!
