Yo my 1992 dash clock works intermitently. I bought the car in march and it has only worked three times since. can't seem to find which fuse it is and i really don't won't to have to pull the dash. any clues? I bought chiltons but the scematics look like chicken scratch.

Common problem. it's internal to the clock. bad capacitors and solder joints on the circuit boards.

I've been fixing them for $35 for other .org members. if you want me to fix it, shoot me a private message and we'll talk business.

To my knowledge, every one of these clocks in 89-94 Maximas does this sooner or later, and at $330 (Believe IT!!) replacement is out of the question. I've got the same problem with our two 1990 Maximas - getting ready to pull clocks on both for repair.

javascript:smilie('')Here's some help: An excellent pictorial/tutorial of the clock repair complete with capacitor sizes. This guy picures of each step - starting with removal of dash trim pieces.
