The vg30et in the Z cars are a totally different setup vs. a maxima vg30e...You cannot just "slap" a turbo on these cars.....Their are no "kits" available...All the piping work will have to be custom....Then you have to tune it, which is a whole other animal, no "slap on" tuning is available either...

i understand the piping would have to be fabricated and the ecu would have to be tuned,im talking internals, like rods, pistons, cranks, etc. is all that designed different?

yes, the internals on a vg30et are different than a vg30e...

Similar but different. Vg30et is lower compression. To anwser your actual question the internals in the vg30e are quite strong. Many z guys and myself included have pushed the stock internal motors upwards of 500whp. Read mtcookson writeup in the sticky.

p.s my turbo manifolds will be for sale soon.

very common to do, turbo conversion on a 3rd gen takes 45-60 minutes if that

basically

-yes, you can use Z31 turbo parts. you still need to do SOME custom work
-VG can take some boost stock, but upgraded internals are always better
-auto trans will **** the bed with boost especially VG auto trans, VE 5spd should be alright depending on how much power youre making
-if you cant take a engine completely apart completely yourself, dont attempt installing a turbo system

in short, theres about 500 people that have talked about doing it/wanted to do it, but i dont even think a dozen that followed through

True statement...I posses the ability but after 5 years of owning my 3rdgen I still haven't boosted yet, i've accomplished quite a bit but no boost.

when the actual turbo and parts cost more than the actual car itself you'll have even less and less people doing it.

i think it's about 10 cars (probably less) that actually done it successfully.

I love my turbo, but in hindsight I wish I would have invested the money into something else. Reality is, you can right now get a 5.5 gen max, all bolt ons and simple tuning via AFC and have more reliable horsepower, a nicer (newer) vehicle to boot.....that you can still get tons of parts for, and have roughly the same amount of $$ invested.

Yah, but the lines, Man! The 3rd gen grunt is all in the muscular angularity IMO. Even the 5th gen, although not bad, is still too rounded for me.
