Anyone have a clue how to find a short in the brake lights?

First thing to look at is at the contacts of the tailight housing to make sure there is no corrosion or the contact points of the brake light bulbs are not melted to cause a short.

Take all of the brake light bulbs out of the sockets. Don't forget the light in the rear window or air spoiler. Step on brake pedal. If fuse blows with no bulbs installed, you have a wiring problem.

If the fuse doesn't blow, examine each bulb carefully for a filament inside that is warped and touching the other filament.
