Any ideas on VQ30DE-K swap for a VE30DE?

I have a 92 Maxima SE with a VE30DE engine. I need to know if a VQ30DE swap is recommended. What do you all think? Is it an easy swap? Anyone selling one for cheap?

one guy did it, quite a bit of work and wiring nightmares for minimal gain. VE30DE is just as good of a engine. if you want a VQ trade it for a 4th gen

....Not to sure about that one, you can argue a VE being on par the VQ30DE with its slight top end advantage, but its just not. A DEK on the other hand, with its manifold, its a pretty unfair comparison.

But if you want a VQ just get a 4th/5th/6th gen.

Swap has been done. I know of 3 that have done. 1 of them didn't work out after a few months so it got trashed, the other who knows what happened and finally Aaron's is basically the only one that has made his work to his specifications. Not worth the hassle on a 3rd gen at all. Just get rid of the 3rd gen for a newer gen maxima.

Well if you have the passion, go for it. After seeing a Pontiac GTO (Last gen) engine in an S2000. Anything can be possible. Patience, money, time, and knowledge. If you don't have it, keep dreaming.

Thanks all. I actually spoke to Aaron today. I may look into the 3.5 swap like he did. He has what I need to coach me thru the wiring part. But I may also look into boring out the VE engine to its max...(no pun intended) maybe to a 3.2 or whatever the case may be. I'm not trying to have a racecar...I have a 73 Plymouth Duster for that. I just want a nice fast turbo-charged street car that I can drive to work and also to car shows. I think I'm gonna go with the VE, unless I can get a VQ35 for cheap. JDM VE's $975!
