ECU Diagonistics Question

1991 Maxima

I read that, after turning the ECU screw counter clockwise, that the red and green light will flash simultaneously, one time, two times, three times and four times. Upon the third simultaneous red and green flash, that I am to turn the screw back clockwise back to its original position. Well, I discovered that my ECU red and green lights, blink up to five times, then recycle. Any thoughts on this.

yes...modes 1 to 5..you pick which one you want to be in.
you have to read the forum and do some searches on your own. it's hard to fix a car over the web.

It is a five mode system.

You turn the screw back the other way when the LEDs flash out what mode you want. For example, if you want mode three, then after they blink three times turn the screw. Then you are in mode three.

94 ve30de B50EC8 I recently cleared my PCM codes by mistake on my last reading, was misfire on cylinder 4, now showing 505, the engine starts but is not drivable, is there a way to run a self diagnosis without running the engine or do I ABSOLUTELY need to run a driving cycle?

Yes, in fact, running a diagnostics is done with the engine off. Just turn your ignition key on, then with a small screwdriver, turn the small screw counter clockwise, to the applicable mode. When you get your readings, turn the small screw clockwise back to its original position, until you feel a click.

I already know this part, but now the codes are cleared(by my mistake) I want the system to tell me what else is wrong. Please understand I MADE the 505..!

to protect yourself...you might want to PM him your phone number instead of posting it on the web for the entire world to see.
