with Nissans no D in the engine code means its SOHC. RB20DE, SR20DE, etc are all twin cam. VG30E, KA24E, etc are single cam

Distributor - VG single overhead cam.

Coil packs (no dizzy) - VE double overhead cam.

FYI: Breakdown of engine designation.

VG30E, VG30ET, VE30DE, VQ35DE

Example: (VQ35DE)
V - Engine configuration (V6)
Q - Engine design/generation/series
35 - Engine size (3.5 liters)
D - Dual Overhead cam
E - Electronic ignition

As stated, without the D, its a SOHC engine.

Even if you didn't really know! If most of you owners would buy a freakin maintenance manual and read it you would learn much more!
