Although a search will certainly yield a plethora of useful info and opinions, it'd probably be eye-opening if you were to cut your OE filter open ... then you decide what you should use.

Amsoil signature series. Supposed to good for 25,000 miles though i probably wouldn't recomend going that but they are an exellent filter.

i usually use Bosch or K&N. ive found them to be significantly larger than other brands in regards to filter size. otherwise here at Wal-Mart Purolator filters are like $7 and theyre decent.

Between Bosch and k&n which one has given you longer oil life and what kind of oil do you use

The older Nissan filters were supposedly crappy quality. The newer ones are better constructed, from what I've heard. Plenty of good aftermarket filters out there though. Purolator, Mobil 1, Bosch, Wix/Napa Gold- can't go wrong with any of these. Avoid Fram orange can.

+1

I've been using WIX #51394 (its a cross reference of the yota filter). I've been very happy with the wix brand of filters so far. The parts store I buy them at has most filter brands on display cut in half so you can see the internals. Seems to be well made and I still don't have VTC clack. This is for the VE engine though.

I believe the VG engine, that the OP has, is not as picky with oil filter.

+1 on multiple cars for years. There are annual sales on Napa Gold usually around this time of year. It depends on area but I've bought a case during one of the sales at 50% off.

K&N have done nothing but suck for me. i tried one on my Hilux and it slowly leaked oil. tried one on my Crown, found 2 liters of oil on the garage floor the next morning. i just use Bosch filters now
