i have no idea if you can, but i would says its more likely that VG30DE stuff would work with a VE30DE rather than VG30DE on VG30E. VE30DE were based off of VG30DE and used as a FWD platform for them

I asked because I'm trying to lower the compression to get ready for high boost.

Look up an article by mtcookson
on how to turbo a 3rd Gen maxima.
It's got some info you may find useful.

TTZ pistons fit. I've always understood the rods to be identical, so it wouldn't be an "upgrade" to use them. Not sure about the crank

The crank is different- snout is a different length IIRC- but the rods and rod bearings are the same part numbers from Nissan for the VE30DE, VG30DE, and VG30DETT.

When I built my high compression VE, I used VG30DE (NA) pistons and ARP rod bolts on my original VE rods. Since the rods are the same for all of the engines, that means the wrist pin diameter is the same so you can simply drop in VG30DETT pistons of your compression choice.

Head CCs are the same and head gasket thickness is the same, so your overall compression should be the same if you don't mill the heads down any.

compression was obviously higher as I had to dial the timing back to keep from pinging w/ 93 octane in the summer.

It was noticeably faster, but I never bothered to dyno since I quit modding it and bought a G35 for a daily. car has been sitting around since. (time to sell it..)

The big issue is the stock cams and exh mani don't provide enough airflow for an NA build. Turbo cars don't have as much issue since you're changing the manifolds and forcing air through the engine. A set of cams and headers would really liven the car up, but nobody makes/made them off the shelf at the time. I even have a complete head + cams boxed up ready to go to a cam shop, but never followed through with it.
