Exhaust Manifold Studs

I'm about to replace the clutch in my car, and I figure I might as well go ahead and replace my exhuast manifold studs, which I can hear beginning to leak. I did some searching and found a couple usefull posts, but I still have a couple questions.

First, I saw a lot of mentions of price quotes "per side." Exactly how many exhaust studs will I be going after, and what makes one side more difficult than the other (I realize it's the location, but if someone could just briefly describe the location). Also, I saw Matt93SE post that turbo Z studs should be used. I assume they're more resistant to cracking than the standard Maxima studs. If I go to a parts store and get 300zx exhuast manifold studs, will there be any fitment problems? Thanks for all your help.
