IACV idle air control valve differences
So i never was able to pinpoint an answer to this. Hopefully this could also be a good reference to others as well - VE manual vs VE auto are 2 different part numbers for the IACV. I'm questioning why the difference?
Almost everything appears exactly the same - the fast idle control (purple connector) and aux air control (brown connector) and all hose hookups. Except- the idle speed adjust screw (top right of picture) which is a screw shaft that sticks out that you can turn by hand on the manual one, and on the one for the automatic, it is a normal seated screw that you need a screwdriver for. Also the air passage sections appear different, on the face where the gasket sits - on the picture, the automatic is on the left and manual on right
To those that may not know, my car is originally a VE automatic swapped to 5 speed manual, but i never changed the IACV, and i never had a problem. I did swap over the ECU though from a manual car. Now I need to buy a new IACV, and Im at the decision to buy the manual or auto one, pending how important the difference is

random thought...
with an auto the motor needs enough air to spin the TC...so technically the motor needs a little more air to keep it spinning.
where as the manual it's not spinning that heavy TC so it needs less air?
i know on the VG the TPS are different between manual and auto for that reason. i swapped the car to manual and the idle speed was like 1200 rpm. not sure if that's related to the IACV. my thing is if it's working for you...then stick with it.
