backfire or something maybe?

in my years ive only seen something remotely similar to this and it was on a Focus, it backfired and the pressure was enough that it literally blew apart the intake manifold

does the motor smoke a little when you accelerate?
does it burn any oil?

Are you sure all of your lines were routed correctly? Maybe you misrouted a line or two when reinstalling the plenum, That's really the only plausible thing I can think of. Unless there is a blockage somewhere. The first line you mentioned goes to the surge tank, that cylinder deal is a valve, maybe it's stuck shut. I believe the surge tank plays a big role in the whole system, and regulating pressure. Engine won't even remain running if disconnected. Course if there is a blockage or stuck valve, could be anywhere. The VE system is pretty complicated so I'd just start by making sure all the lines are in their correct locations.

No smoke motor is running good. I'll double check tomorrow if the vacuum lines are connected right

I don't see how that could even happen. Are you sure that starting the engine actually made them "pop" off? Or perhaps do you think they somehow came off and you didn't notice it until you started it and it was ideally funny
