This past weekend i put blue lights behind the gauges. This little mod was even easier than i had thought it would be. I just used blue colored bulbs so i know they will fade but i am wondering if anyone knows where you can buy or order those colored condom things that are over the factory installed dash lights?

Sway1331 What are these condom things your talking about, what dash lights do you put them on?

 

I've used PIAA Plasma Blue wedge bulbs in my Maxima and my Altima. They don't fade and they are a great color blue...with a bit of purple in them. They look great.

Granted they cost a bit more, but I think they are worth it.

 

they are just colored rubber slip covers that go over the bulb, they are on the 4 bulbs behind the gauges and there is one with a cover on it that lights up down by the automatic transmission shift ****.

 

yeah, id like to know where you can get some blue bulb condoms too. i switched all my interior bulbs with blue sylvania and they stayed blue for like a week or too. now they just look bad.

 

have u tried the dealer? i broke one when i was changing mine out but i never got around to going

Do you have pics of the new bulbs in the gauge? were do you buy the bulbs?

 

there are 4 bulbs total (size 194 i believe) for all the gauges, i bought mine at a local auto parts store, they were like $6 for all 4 bulbs, i dont know where to buy the more brand name bulbs but if you live in a larger market you maybe able to buy them at your local shop. its a cool cheap, easy little mod that everyone in your car will notice.

I know about those condom things you're talking about. I could use a bunch of those because I made the green light under the shifter blue and it turned white like 2 days later. I have no idea where they sell them, which sucks... I guess I'll fork out the dough for Plasma Blue bulbs.

 

try autometer.com...i saw some at a shop the other day, but they were green, dunno about diff colors

 

All of the stuff at autometer is for dragging and such. No bulbs, unless I missed somethin!

 

Where can you get the plasma blues? About how much are they?
