Increasing Size of Oilpan

A crazy man from Honda Land told me that putting a larger oil pan in a car would add HP? Any thoughts on this?

I guess in theory a bigger pan would mean more oil. That could possibly mean cooler oil. The cooler oil could possibly mean cooler engine. I doubt the horse power to money spent ratio would be anything apealing

I doubt it would add HP but would do wonders for longevity of the engine, and that's why you have oil!

Easiest way to achieve this would probably be to use the oil pan out of a turbo Z31. But I haven't seen the oil pan for myself so I don't know if it would actually hit the crossmember at all or if it even is of greater capacity. I've got it planned for my turbo project nonetheless for the oil return line from the turbo.

Personally I wouldn't bother unless I was running either a custom hardcore engine or NOS or boosted. I don't think it's worth the cost or trouble for something you don't really need for an otherwise stock engine. Just get good oil and good filters and change them often.

my 2 cents
