Ok, I would have put this in OT but I since it is no more I had to post somewhere.. Word is new SR-T 4 Neon will be sporting a 2.4 turbo, 0-60 in 5.9 and top speed of 148. HP is rated at 205 and 220 lb/torque. Oh yeah, MOPAR is already going to market aftermarket parts for the SR-T. Just thought I would give you a heads up in case sometime in 2003/2004 you see a funky looking neon and he opens a can of whip *** on ya..

OT, but yeah this ting is gonna kick some ***...and what surpised me is the max torque hits in the 2ks(no typical "no-torque" sport compact)!!! ugly car, but looks to be quite fast and I hear under $20k!

 

you know whats sweet? the 2004 dodge ram, with 500 hp/ torque and stock 24" rims, and a 0-60 of 5 seconds

 

my friend has a 99 neon and we put a turbo on it and it now has close to 242 horse power at the wheels on 10 lbs. of boost. this year hes going to up the boost and put a bigger turbo on it. But yeah the new one coming out is going to be sweet especially with a couple of aftermarket parts. ill never under estimate a neon again, ive seen too many people get their feelings hurt riding shotgun in his car. LOL

 

Well I'm sure one of us will get the chance to race one.

 

here in austin there is a kinda trend going on...this guy named jeremy swaped a 2.4 startus bottom end in his neon and ran 12.8 with a 75 shot no turbo.

 

Umm....What neon is this, Dummy? I'm in Austin too and I don't want to mistake him for a slow piece of crap. Oh well, I guess I will just have to get 800hp out of my GXE.

 

the neon used to be owned by jeremy, his name is FATA$$GT on www.texasracingscene.com he ran a 12.8 in it when he had it, he sold it and now the guy that owns it has it running 14's untuned. its black and usually has a set of 18's in the back and stock wheels in the front.

and i know a guy who is really putting alot of tim into his eclipse GS(neon motor) and it is the quickest gs ive ever seen.

 

I never usually hang out on Texasracingscene because too many of the guys there are jerks.

 

Bleh it's still gonna be a neon though I'm gonna at his *** in my Lancer Evolution VIII too!

 

lol, yeah they are jerks to newbies but just because the think it is funny, once you go a lil more they are pretty cool.

 

You got it right Neice Anne! A neon is still a neon. Just like a hatchback is still a hatchback. But, a Maxima will always be a Maxima and DAMN they are much cooler cars!
