My friend just totalled his car, and was looking for a fun, inexpensive car. He likes mine, so we went searching for 5spd VE's. We found one with an aluminum flywheel, y-pipe, UDP, and other mods for 4,000. It's a 93, and the owner has just fixed the VTC's, and said that he has the receipt. Supposedly, the car is in great shape and is quite quick. The only problem with the car is that it's about 6 hours away from us. Looks like we'll be planning a road trip.

dude, go for it. i think that is a great find. i don't think that deal will come again. how many miles does the car have on it? that is the only drawback the car may have, but as long as it was maintained. it will be good. but good luck with that.

I'd jump on it. $4K is about what I got for my stock 91SE when I sold it.

Yeah, screw the 6-hour drive! If this car has had all that stuff fixed and is in good condition and is modded, I say jump on it too!

BUT check it out thoughroughly first of course.

We'll probably be driving down next weekend. We're in Virginia, and the car is in Atlanta, which makes it more than a 6 hour drive. Apparently the Auto Trader's mileage was off. It'll probably be more like 10 hours. Either way, I still think it's a great idea, and should be a pretty fun road trip to pick up a nice new VE. I've had plenty of experience with the VE and it's problems, so I should be able to pick any weird sounds out. The car looks good, he had 17 or 18 inch wheels on the car also, but he's going to take them off and put back on the stockers. Also, he had the rear spoiler shaved off to give it, in his words "a more stock look." I never spoke to the guy, but my friend did, and he sounds like a real Maxima enthusiast.

I'm pretty sure you're talking about a guy on this board named "allgo"
he posted his car in the FS forum here a while back
93SE 5spd white, no spoiler, lots o mods used to have Borbet E 17"
email is sydnerd or something like that I think his name is David Snyder maybe; I know he is in Atlanta
I never got a chance to see his car in person but I've heard good things about it (look for posts in FS and southeast forum about his car)

recently got a I30T 5spd to replace his car
