New to the maxima game

So i started with my 1984 50th AE 300zx but had to sell it before I moved here to Germany. Now I'm picking up a 1992 Maxima with a VG30. Great condition, winter wheels on Nissan steelies and summer wheels on the stock wheels. I'd like to know what sites everyone uses for parts anything from performance to replacements for little things that aren't universal.
Glad to join the maxima gang.
Here's a few pics of her.
And for those that don't know the lights in the rear number are rear fog lights.

Very cool, welcome to the .Org!

Amazing we have a recently joined UK member and now one in Germany - and your cars are actually the same color. What are the odds. And yours looks to be in very nice condition as well!

As far as performance, there isn't anything readily available for these cars anymore. You're stuck with finding used parts from part-outs here and having them shipped your way, but even those are getting few and far between as these cars are dying off quick.

As far as replacement parts, there's not much out there better than RockAuto.com, it's who I use pretty much exclusively.

Got any interior pics of your car? Are those steelies original to 3rd gen Maximas over there? None of the 3rd gen Maximas here in the States ever came with steelies from the factory.

Welcome to the forum! I'll tell you now that those "eastern hemisphere grilles" were proven to cause y pipe build-up, and catalytic converter corrosion in the 3rd gen maximas. If you want tho, i'll trade you one of my "American Grilles" for FREE of charge. Act fast though, i only have one left.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I'm the recently joined member from the UK that James mentioned. My '94 Maxima was pretty much identical to yours when I bought it...

Amazing how similar they look. The KH2 colour is lovely once polished and waxed.

...and after a little bit of work, this is it now 8 weeks later....

Looking forward to seeing what you do with yours.

RockAuto helped me with my replacement bonnet lifters. Received them from the US within 10 days of ordering, so good service.

Enjoy the forums, and get some more pics posted!

So no interior pictures right now but I go and pick her up Friday and that's when I'll get all the pictures.

Also Geordie, I plan on adding very similar fog lights.

Appreciate the warm welcome guys.

Also I'm not sure if they were just original to the 3rd gen Maximas. Probably all nissans around that time got those. As I've noticed over here it's big to buy a car with a set of steelies and winter tires. I see lots of 2015s brand new coming with steelies. Winter tires are law here in the winter so I think Nissan may have offered them as an option for their cars back then.

I've actually taken mine off for now. Just felt like they weren't deep enough in the bumper and wide enough.

Car is home now, here are some pics. Looks like I'm going to need some center caps but I'm hoping they are in the car somewhere. And I knew I was going to need a radio. She took the hour drive home like a champ, only thing that worries me is under acceleration sometimes she'll whine, sounds like it could be a belt but it's not very pound and hard to place where the sound is coming from.

Has a lot of potential, can't wait to see what you do to it. I would do anything to find a steering wheel in that shape.

nice car! it looks like you might be missing the 2 metal brackets for radio mounting,
on 90's era nissans you attach the 2 flat grey metal brackets using short screws
to the radio and cupholder or cd pocket
then screw the radio/cupholder or cd pocket and 2 brackets to the car with 4 screws
i dont have any pictures of the brackets, they could be in place or in the car, good luck,
90's nissans usually need an antenna plug in adapter as well,
does yours have bose emblems on the speaker covers?
