No radio reception

Radio and antenna have been changed. No difference, still no reception. Is there a ground wire for the antenna circuit or something similar ?

There is a long antenna wire that runs from the rear powered antenna to the radio in the dash. Perhaps this wire has been damaged.

What I do is put a # 0 Philips screwdriver in the radio's antenna socket (or anything that is the size of the antenna wire tip) and then touch the screwdriver shaft. I then become the antenna. If you touch the radio chassis, you are grounded out and this won't work. This also won't work if you have weak radio reception. You could also attach a piece of wire to the screwdriver shaft.

Or you could always make sure you pick up a passenger that can sing my guess would be like Dennis mentioned the wire may be damaged. Have you checked the connection on the back of the deck?

is your back windows tinted?

IIRC - nissan used two antennas...one that's in the back glass/defroster and the other is the actual antenna that goes up and down.

if you swap to an aftermarket radio i believe the antenna adapter only uses one of the signals. maybe swap the antenna wire to the other one? total guess here.
