Ideas on steam cleaning an engine?

Ideas on steam cleaning an engine?

Rather than getting it done in a shop, has anyone heard of renting one of the machines? Buyin a smaller one? Any ideas?

when i first did mine i paid 30 bucks to have it shampoo'd...well worth it...now i just use some engine cleaner i got from a detail shop that you spray on...let soak for 10 minutes and wash off...then i have a detail spray

yeah place racing...i don't remember what the cost was...i know i paid 220 about 2 years ago...shipping probably about 15 bucks to ship a CAI

try this

use a steambuggy if you can get one. it does wonders on engines.

this is one place to get it. i have one and i love it. it cleans rims very thoroughly. And it helps get exhaust mufflers and pipes clean. I doubt someone would rent one to you unless you go to a carpet cleaner, or a neighbor tor family member has one.

kinda curious

chris, where did you actually go to get the shampooing done and this is open for anyone else who knows of national businesses that do it? my engine looks like hogpin from peanuts took a tremendous BM on my engine..lol

it was at a local shop that does detailing, alarm installs, tinting etc etc etc etc etc. i'm sure everyone has something close to them. it's just a matter of finding it. I'm not aware of any national chain that does it. Any detail shop should be able to help you out.
