i had a post offering shots from my haynes manual for free and it got deleted.... WTF you moderators better learn your place and how to use it efficently! i have been a loyal member and helped tons of people, as have you im sure. but i dont blast on people and i dont expect my post to be deleted like that unless you pm me and let me know to do it and i will. but this nonsense must stop. im sure most org memers will agree that you guys have abused your rights and have been an *** to many times! i suggest a new moderator and get rid of the one who has done this!

maybe they took it down so that maxima.org wouldn't be liable for copyright infringement or something like that probably

that was nice of you to try to help out other people like that
I'd suggest everyone just get their own manual out there if you can (FSM is way better than Haynes or Chiltons but any of those will be helpful). It'll easily pay for itself if you're at all mechanically adept.

Matt is the worst moderator ever and I hate Jeff j/k

Covering all bases at once are we? The electronic equivalent of thwacking the bull in the happy-sacks and running!

Sometimes I've found that certain threads just disappear off the forum index but still actually exist when I search for them. Anyone else get this?

bootleg DVDs?
how about some hacked games?

dnas...i don't think it was a personal issue..just that copyright thing that gets the org into a lawsuit is not too cool. you do want to come back here and post again right? or do u want some big company shuting us down because there was some copyright infringement going on?

I just killed 6 family members. Anyone want the pics?

Seriously, I would delete this thread if I was you. You CANNOT reproduce copyrighted material. CAN NOT!! Without the express consent of the author. What you would have done is illegal, and as such maxima.org would be a party to your illegal activity. The moderators are here to make sure that those that are members here abide with the agreement that you agreed to when you signed up here. Why you felt the need to bash them is beyond me, but to each his own.

I wish I had $12 to go buy my own manual. But I spent it on a GTR sticker instead.

It was handled in the most professional manner possible.
the other possiblities (which I would have preferred greatly, and have done on other occasions):

1. Flame you for being so inconsiderate as to infringe on copyright law and freely distribute pictures and information which were complied by another source (Chilton's/Haynes, whichever it was)-- they spend a lot of time and money and research on writing that manual, then people like you go and just hand it out. How about I take ALLL your homework and exams from school and just make 500 copies of it and start passing them out in all of your classes for everyone to use and copy so they don't have to do anything for themselves. even your worst enemy gets the benefit of your labor. does that sound fair?

2. I could have politely posted how this infringed on copyright law and locked the thread so you would look like a jerk (and still get the publicity of having the manual and your emai lposted for anyone who wants to help you commit this crime).

3. I could have sent this post to Jambo and recommended having your membership here revoked because you chose not to follow .org's rules.

4. I could have kept my mouth shut and deleted the thread, so as to NOT make a scene. you know why the thread was deleted, and that was the most professional thing to do, IMO.

If you have a problem with the way these boards are moderated, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Bill, Jeff, and I all follow the rules set out by .org's administration (see the moderator policies and rules post on the general forum). If you have a problem with that, then you can leave. when you signed onto this forum, you agreed to be bound by those terms (which were quoted in another post above), so I won't waste my time repeating them AGAIN. If you don't agree to those terms then you shouldn't post here anymore.
