Resonator Removal????????

What would happen if I removed my resonator? I already have a gutted cat and Im getting a WSP y pipe. I have a Borla, will it make my exaust louder or make it sound like crap? I want good sound from my Max, and cant seem to figure out how to get it.

Re: Resonator Removal????????

loud, but a deep tone...I'm runnig the stock cat, 2.5" catback(no resonator) and striaght through muffler....it drones at low Rpm, roars at WOT, but is tolerable at cruising speeds! don't worry it sholdn't sound like a Honda...

It WON'T sound like a Honda cause it's not a 4 banger (they are annoyingly loud anyway) but if I were you I would replace that cat...

i have my resonator cut out also...do it, i think it sounds better. like da-max said, it's a more low tone sound, noot whinning like the 4 banggers. my buddy cut his out of his beammer and it was horrible. but on ours it sounds better.

I got a new B-pipe for mine and and put a 2.25" pipe using a stock muffler and y. You can hear that it sounds deeper and a better tone without the Resonator. Go 4 it

You cut your resonator out of your intake tubing ?

I have a VG30E, and I was thinking about cutting off the resonator

How did you do this? How is the resonator attached to the intake ?

and why is it there in the first place..what does it do ?

I just put in a JWT POP Charger and notice no real loudness...

prolly becuz my engine is loud anyway..

I want to make it sound a bit louder and Im wondering if i should
cut the resonator and how I should do it

thanks

I believe he was referring to the Exhaust Resonator.
