Bad Fuel Pump???

92 SE 5 speed.
Was driving home and several times the car started to die on me but seemed to catch and keep going. Close to home it almost died and was hardly running and stepping on the gas did nothing.
Finally caught and made it home.
Later it started and only ran for a minute then stalled.
Will not start. Turns but will not catch.
I kind of think it might be fuel related.
Car has 151,000 miles.
What do you think?
Had it towed to a dealer (hate them but my mechanic is a half hour away) so I have my fingers crossed it is minor and can be fixed today.

Fuel pump recently quit on my 93 SE at 235K miles. I replaced it - not too difficult, but took me several hours. Must remove back seat bench and fold down arm rest to get at tank access cover. Part from dealer was about $280, but local repair shop ordered a Bosch replacement for $200 which turned out to be exact replacement (same mfg) as OE part.

Mine quit a few miles from home, pushed it to a parking lot and diagnosed there - no fuel pressure. Removed back seat and access cover and verified power to pump, but pump did not run as it should for a few seconds when key is turned on. A dealer parts guy gave me a tip of banging on pump with a hammer to get it running a little more (jars it enough to get the brushes to contact the commutato in the pump's electric motor). This zeroed in the diagnosis and got the car running the few miles to get home.

Dealer said they can get an after market for $255.
Got a line on a used one out of a '93 for $125. Not sure how many miles are on it.
Hope to go the used route since I am looking for a new car(newer used)and hope to find one soon!
