So i noticed everyone else that has springs, the front is higher than back, what's the deal?, I know the Max sits like that stock but with aftermarket springs you want it to look good right? So i was thinkin' what if, i bought 2(1 pair)Intrax for the front and 2 Sprint or ST, whichever one gives the 1.5" drop for the rear. that way the front would sit a little lower than the rear, it's kinda the look i want. I know it will handle wierd but, it should still be better than stock right? What you guys think?

i have the tokikos and eibachs and my front does not sit higher than the back. i never measured, but it doesnt look like it. stock the front isnt higher either. it may look like that, but im pretty sure its an illusion. i dont know if i would mix springs like that. they all have different spring rates.

The front of my car sits slightly lower than the back. Maybe a halh inch or so. Looks nice, only because its slammed compared to everyone elses. Rides great though.

92GXE, touring wing, 18” racing wheels, Port&Polished intake, custom intake, custom yellow interior, racing seats, back seats taken out and replaced with subs and amps, NOS kit, Suspension tech. Lowering springs, custom grille, soon to be custom painted and have the whole engine rebuilt for big shot NOS and custom SC and tranny converted to 5-speed

Just cut em man. Then you dont have to hassle with clamps and its safer.

Although you may not want to go this route, it would be a solution. The sell macpherson strut spring compressors at Auto Zone, use these to compress the spring at the right measurement (inches of drop) and using a propane torch heat the springs. After they are heated proportionatly dump the springs in cold water.... or for better results oil.

yeah i heated the coils when i first got the car. wasnt as bad as everyone says it is. a little bouncy and it sure did slam it. i didnt do it the way trickin it described though. i just heated the coils with the torch until it lowered a little, then threw some water on it and it lowered the car even more. i didnt have to take the coils out or anything. it slammed it 4 inches and was free! if you do this you probably want to do it like trickin it described cuz you could probably get all them the same drop. many would advise you that this is pretty bad on the suspension, but i had mine like that for a year and a half with no problems. but dont do it and expect it to ride smooth as factory cuz it weakens the coils which makes the springs not as stiff.

btw trickin-it, what about the clear tails? c'mon more info or something.

i will probably cut the coils but if i heated it up or put the spring compresser in how can you line up the springs so that they are the same hieght? will this be hard or imposible to do? i think i may just cut them. chris how far did you cut your coils? if i cut them 5" then will this be enough to drop my car 4". chris i have the springs as you ST lowering springs. last thing is there a web site that can show me how to take out and install my springs. the last two times i had my shop install them and i am poor college student. thanks guys

I'm sure you can get a book from a library. Its pretty self explanitary how to take the springs off. If you look at them its easy to figure it out. If you need help give me an e-mail. If you cut each one about 5" you should get an overall drop of aboyt 4". Just make sure that when you cut them you measure the gaps in the wheelwell with the setup you have now. If some sides are higer than others you might want to cut a lttle more off the spring. And since rthe front springs are bigger, you need to cut the most off of them. Probably 5" off of them and 4" off the back. Good luck. Any Q's just drop me an e-mail.

chris you are talking about going around the coil. not measuring up and down right? like cutting off the over lap of the bottem coil right? sorry but i am a bit slow at this because i dont want to mess them up. one more thing -- how is you alinment? is the camber and toe messed up at all? can the shop get everything perffic? thanks for your help.
