someoe help me
Ok i have a 90 SE Max with a 94 se engine and i just added a new Exhaust Muffler, no Y-Pipe or anythin else, and now everytime i go in my car in the morning my car must warm up for 5-10 min or if i dont do that and i go in drive my car wont move it will fill like its in neutral. why does that happen? Also when it switchin gears it takes longer, when its goin to the higher gear like 3rd or so it redlines before switchin gears then a big burst of speed comes out, why is this happenin? is it suppose to happen or is it cuz my pipes need to be bigger for my muffler? how much do Y-pipes cost? someone help me

Its a Automatic, Could it be that i might need a tune up? could it be that i need a Y-pipe? and also how much does a y-pipe cost? i know it cant be my transmission becuz my transmission is pretty good, it has 53,000 miles on it.

haha no idea how i had it done, my grandfather is a mechanic/cardealer, and he did it for me. I didnt ask any questions, he always fixes my maxima, Ive had this car since 93 and everyone asks how do i still have this car and its all because of my grandfather, my original engine blew so tahts why i got it changed

if you know enough to do that engine swap, you should know enough to figure out that's a tranny problem and has absolutely nothing to do witht he exhaust.
FYI, exhaust on both VG and VE maximas were exactly the same. I've had both of them side by side and they're the same parts once you get past the manifolds.

I know!!
dude i had the same problem when i first boguht my car
, it goes away if you shift in to P and then D again right? (sometimes?)
how many miles??
let it warm up before driving... when the RPMs drop to 1000 your good to go ... it will take about 5 min. do that for ever and start using in some crazy engine treatments (not Z max!!) pro long works great...., you could need a tune up.. but with good treatment is goes away .. it never happends to me anymore.... try getting a CAI as your next mod...

A VE would fit, that's no problem. the problem is the wiring on it. adapting that wiring harness would be a nightmare.
as for the real problem, have you checked the tranny fluid level lately? sounds like it's low.

I had exactly the same problem about two months ago, it's not a tranny issue, it a $7 plastic gromit that busted. You need to get from Nissan. If you take it to a mechanic they can install it for about $30.
I cna't tell you exacly where it is, I thought it was a tranny issue too on my car, but the guys at AAMCO had seen it before (they said it's common on old maximas - i've got a 93). They fixed it and had me out of there in an hour. It's been working great ever since.
